Hydrogen Furnace Brazing

Hydrogen furnace brazing consists of a chamber filled with 1 atmosphere of hydrogen that eliminates oxide allowing for flux free brazing. Parts to be joined are placed in the furnace and heated to the point where the brazing alloy flows between mating parts forming a metallurgical joint.

Competencies:

• Material selection for base metals and braze alloy for service environment
• Mass spectrometer helium leak testing to 1x10-9 cc/sec of Heat 1 atm
• Sizes up to 16 inches in diameter and 36 inches in length
• Temperatures to 1150° C  (2,100° F)
• Use of ceramic and refractory metal tooling for repeatable alignment at assembly
